The below is a list of fixtures which have been added or rearranged after the publication of the official fixture list for 2010/11.

Read more about the process we go through to rearrange fixtures and race meetings.

  • Wincanton - All-Hurdle Card Now Programmed for Wednesday May 11th, 2011
    • Lack of rain prompts abandonment of Steeple Chases
    • Additional Hurdle races to close at noon on Saturday, May 7th

Wincanton Racecourse is currently experiencing fast ground conditions with only a small prospect of rainfall scheduled before its next fixture on May 11th. As a consequence, the Clerk Of The Course, in conjunction with the BHA Inspectorate, has been forced to abandon the steeple chases programmed for this day.

Barry Johnson, Clerk Of The Course at Wincanton, explained: "Owing to the prolonged dry spell, Wincanton has all but used its reservoir of water. We have enough remaining to put on 8mm on both courses or 16mm concentrated on one course. With this in mind, and after consultation with Richard Linley (Inspector of Courses), we have decided to abandon the Steeple Chases and concentrate all our efforts on the Hurdle course. We would like to thank Richard and the BHA Racing Department for their prompt action."

In response, the British Horseracing Authority's Racing Department has created three extra hurdle races to take the place of the originally programmed Steeple Chases.

The additional Hurdle races will close at noon on Saturday, May 7th. All the races now due to take place will still be subject to declarations by 10:00am on Tuesday, May 10th.

    • Declarations for Southwell to be made by 10:00am on December 21st

Following recent abandonments and with the current cold snap set to continue, the British Horseracing Authority has programmed two National Hunt Flat race cards on the AWTs at Kempton on Tuesday, December 21st and Southwell on Wednesday, December 22nd. The six race cards are made up of five events primarily aimed at Steeple Chasers and Hurdlers, plus one Standard Open National Hunt Flat race.

Ordinarily, under the Rules of Racing, horses which have run in Steeple Chases or Hurdle Races are not eligible to run in National Hunt Flat races, but given the recent disruption to the fixture list, the British Horseracing Authority has modified the Rules in order to trial this initiative.

Both tracks will be power harrowed to produce ‘standard to slow’ conditions, with the aim of broadly replicating turf conditions described as the ‘slow side of good’.

The races at Kempton Park will close at noon on Saturday, December 18th, with declarations to be made by 10.00am on Monday, December 20th. At Southwell, races will also close at noon on Saturday, December 18th with declarations to be made by 10.00am on Tuesday, December 21st. Running orders and full race conditions follow below.
